1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how CAN'T FORGET! ("CAN'T FORGET!", "the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the CAN'T FORGET! mobile application and its associated website.

CAN'T FORGET! is designed around a privacy-first and data-minimising approach. The core functionality of the app works locally on your device and does not require an account, cloud storage, advertising profile, or developer-operated server.

This Privacy Policy applies to the current version of CAN'T FORGET! available for supported mobile platforms.

2. Privacy at a glance

In the current version of CAN'T FORGET!:

• No user account is required.
• No registration or login is required.
• Your reminders are stored locally on your device.
• Your reminder text is not sent to us.
• Your reminder dates are not sent to us.
• Your app preferences are stored locally on your device.
• Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.
• We do not operate an advertising network.
• We do not display third-party advertising.
• We do not use your information for behavioural advertising.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.
• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not rent personal information.
• We do not maintain a database containing your reminders.

3. Information stored on your device

CAN'T FORGET! stores information locally in order to provide its core functionality. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

• Reminder text that you create.
• Dates and times associated with reminders.
• Notification preferences.
• Notification frequency and timing preferences.
• Theme and appearance preferences.
• Application settings.
• Identifiers used internally to manage your reminders.

This information remains within the app's local storage on your device. CAN'T FORGET! does not transmit this content to a developer-operated server.

Because this information is stored locally, we cannot view, retrieve, recover, or remotely access your reminders.

4. Reminder content

CAN'T FORGET! allows you to enter free-form reminder text. You control what you enter into these fields.

We recommend that you do not use reminders to store passwords, authentication codes, banking credentials, medical records, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive information.

Reminder content is used only to provide the reminder functionality requested by you and, in the current version of the app, is processed locally on your device.

5. Notifications

CAN'T FORGET! may request permission to send notifications. Notification permission is optional but is required if you want the app to alert you about reminders.

In the current version of CAN'T FORGET!, reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device. Reminder information is not sent to a CAN'T FORGET! server in order to schedule these notifications.

You can enable, disable, or modify notification permissions through CAN'T FORGET! where available and through your device's operating-system settings.

Depending on your device settings, notification content may appear on your lock screen or notification centre. You are responsible for choosing the notification-preview settings appropriate for your device and privacy preferences.

6. Device permissions

CAN'T FORGET! follows the principle of requesting only permissions necessary for features you choose to use.

The current core functionality may request notification permission so that reminders can be displayed at the times you select.

CAN'T FORGET! does not require access to your contacts, precise location, photo library, camera, microphone, health information, text messages, call history, or financial information for its current core functionality.

Operating-system permissions can be changed or revoked at any time through your device settings.

7. Information we collect

The CAN'T FORGET! application itself does not currently operate a server-side system for collecting your reminder content, reminder dates, personal profile information, or app-usage history.

We do not currently require you to provide your name, telephone number, physical address, date of birth, location, payment details, contacts, photos, or other personal profile information in order to use the app.

Information may nevertheless be provided to us directly if you voluntarily contact us, as explained below.

8. Information you provide when contacting us

If you contact us voluntarily by email, we may receive the information that you choose to provide, including:

• Your email address.
• Your name, if included in your email or email account.
• The content of your message.
• Attachments that you choose to send.
• Information necessary to respond to your support request.

We use this information only for purposes such as responding to your enquiry, providing support, investigating a problem, considering feedback or suggestions, protecting the app from abuse, and maintaining necessary support records.

You should not send sensitive personal information by email unless it is genuinely necessary for your request.

9. Analytics and diagnostics

The current version of CAN'T FORGET! does not intentionally include a developer-operated behavioural analytics system or advertising analytics system.

Your operating-system provider or app-store provider may independently collect diagnostic, crash, performance, device, installation, or store-related information under its own terms, privacy settings, and privacy policy.

For example, Apple and Google may provide developers with aggregated or diagnostic information relating to application performance. Such platform-level processing is controlled by the relevant platform provider and may depend on your device and privacy settings.

10. Advertising and tracking

CAN'T FORGET! does not currently display third-party advertising.

We do not use reminder information for advertising purposes.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

We do not currently use your activity in CAN'T FORGET! to track you across applications, websites, or services owned by other companies for targeted advertising or advertising measurement.

11. Sharing of information

CAN'T FORGET! does not currently transmit your locally stored reminder content to us and therefore does not share that reminder content with advertisers, data brokers, or other companies.

Information that you voluntarily provide when contacting us may be processed by service providers necessary to operate the communication service, such as our email provider.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, enforce legal rights, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the security of users and the service.

If CAN'T FORGET! introduces a third-party service that receives user data in the future, we will require that the information is handled with protections consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable platform requirements, and this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

12. Third-party software and platform services

CAN'T FORGET! may use operating-system frameworks, development libraries, and third-party software components required to provide application functionality.

These components are not currently integrated by us for the purpose of behavioural advertising or cross-service tracking.

Apple and Google may process information independently when you download, install, purchase, update, or use apps through their platforms. Their processing is governed by their respective privacy policies and account settings.

13. Website and GitHub Pages

The CAN'T FORGET! website and this Privacy Policy are currently hosted using GitHub Pages.

CAN'T FORGET! does not currently use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or behavioural analytics on this website.

GitHub may process technical information necessary to deliver pages to your browser, such as IP addresses, request information, and other network or device information, in accordance with GitHub's own privacy practices.

Such infrastructure-level processing is performed by GitHub rather than by the CAN'T FORGET! mobile application.

14. Email service provider

Support enquiries sent to our contact email address are processed using an external email service provider.

The current contact address uses Gmail, a service provided by Google. Google may process email and associated technical information in accordance with Google's applicable privacy terms and policies.

15. Data retention

Information stored in the app

Locally stored reminder information remains on your device until you edit or delete it, clear the relevant application data where supported, or uninstall the application, subject to any backups or restoration mechanisms controlled by your device or operating-system provider.

Support communications

If you contact us, we may retain your communication for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, resolve issues, maintain appropriate support records, protect the service, or comply with legal obligations.

When the information is no longer reasonably required for those purposes, it may be deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

16. Deleting your information

CAN'T FORGET! does not currently use user accounts and does not maintain a remote account database.

You can delete individual reminders using the controls available within the app.

You can remove locally stored application information by deleting your reminders and, where appropriate, uninstalling the application or clearing application data through your device settings.

Because your reminder content is not stored on our servers, we do not have a remote copy of that content that we can retrieve or delete on your behalf.

If you have contacted us by email and would like us to delete personal information contained in your support communications, you may contact us at cantforget.app@gmail.com. We will process valid requests in accordance with applicable law, subject to information that we may be legally required or permitted to retain.

17. Revoking consent and permissions

Where CAN'T FORGET! relies on a device permission, such as notification permission, you may revoke that permission at any time through your device settings.

Disabling notification permission prevents CAN'T FORGET! from displaying notifications as permitted by the operating system, but does not necessarily delete reminders stored locally in the app.

You can delete locally stored reminders separately using the controls provided by the app.

18. Security

CAN'T FORGET! is designed to minimise unnecessary transfer and storage of personal information.

Keeping reminder information locally reduces the amount of user content that needs to be transmitted to or stored by us.

Local information is also subject to the security protections, access controls, backups, and device configuration provided by your operating system and device.

No method of electronic storage or communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should therefore use appropriate device security measures, such as a device passcode, biometric protection where available, and up-to-date operating-system software.

19. Data transfers

The core reminder data processed locally by CAN'T FORGET! is not transferred by us to a developer-operated server.

If you voluntarily contact us or access our website, service providers involved in email delivery or website hosting may process information in countries other than your own in accordance with their own legal frameworks and privacy safeguards.

20. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may give you rights relating to personal information that an organisation holds about you. These rights may include, where applicable:

• The right to request access to personal information.
• The right to request correction of inaccurate information.
• The right to request deletion of information.
• The right to restrict certain processing.
• The right to object to certain processing.
• The right to data portability in applicable circumstances.
• The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• The right to complain to a competent data-protection authority.

Most reminder information created in CAN'T FORGET! remains solely on your device. Because we do not possess that locally stored information, requests concerning it should generally be exercised directly through the app or your device.

For personal information that we do hold, such as information voluntarily submitted in a support email, you may contact us using the address provided below.

21. European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, information voluntarily submitted to us for support may be processed as necessary to respond to your request, provide the service, comply with legal obligations, protect legitimate interests relating to the security and operation of the service, or on the basis of your consent where appropriate.

CAN'T FORGET! follows a data-minimisation approach and does not currently create user profiles or remotely collect the content of your reminders.

22. United States privacy rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights regarding personal information under applicable state law.

CAN'T FORGET! does not currently sell personal information and does not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

23. Children's privacy

CAN'T FORGET! is not designed to require children to provide personal information to us and the current app does not require an account or personal profile.

We do not knowingly use the app to build advertising profiles about children.

If we learn that personal information has been provided to us by a child in circumstances where applicable law requires parental consent or deletion, we will take appropriate steps to address the information.

A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information directly to us may contact us using the address below.

24. No automated decision-making

CAN'T FORGET! does not currently use personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about users.

The app does not currently create behavioural or advertising profiles based on reminder content.

25. No sale of personal information

CAN'T FORGET! does not sell personal information.

We do not exchange reminder content for monetary consideration and do not provide reminder content to data brokers.

26. Future features

CAN'T FORGET! may evolve over time. Future versions could introduce additional functionality such as optional synchronisation, accounts, cloud services, premium features, analytics, or other services.

If a future feature materially changes how personal information is collected, used, stored, or shared, we will update this Privacy Policy and any required app-store privacy disclosures before or in connection with the introduction of that functionality.

Where required by applicable law or platform policy, we will also request appropriate permission or consent.

27. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to CAN'T FORGET!, legal requirements, platform requirements, or our privacy practices.

When this Privacy Policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.

Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate method where required.
